Comments: Quite frankly the most disappointing customer service I have ever had.
I was looking to get three signet rings (two in 2015, the third of behalf of my boyfriend's parents for his Christmas present). To give the story some background, my boyfriend is currently a serving officer in the army, and therefore difficult to get hold of. I was messaging Viv back and forth and finally settled on everything only to be told by my boyfriend's parents that as December had been a heavy month (isn't it for everyone!) that they would be unable to pay the outstanding £300 (we had already transferred a deposit to try on some samples which we were then told we weren't going to be able to, which we accepted) until 23rd December. I relayed this information to Viv who gave me a couple of options - pay 23rd December and he will fulfill the order 14th Jan, or put the remaining balance on a credit card. We got back to him later that day giving the card holders name, registered address etc for him to send the link to pay only for him to reply that he was "bored now" and that there was no one of that name registered at that address (we had been warned that the transaction would be declined if the billing details didn't match exactly). This is a lie. Not only is the card holder registered at that address (and buys many things online with no problem) but also the house was bought in that name. He also refused to show evidence of this, and stated that his only boss was him (apparently paying customers come second).
Now, it's 8 days before Christmas and we are left with no Christmas present, late or otherwise. The level of unprofessionalism is staggering, compounded by the lying! I will never EVER even consider getting rings made here and am instead getting the two rings I need next year made at Rebus.
Horrific! Thoroughly disappointed at this completely unfair service!
Admin reply: This was a difficult order for me and one I found quite upsetting. I’ve posted Caroline’s comments (despite having the administrative privilege to remove them) because I believe it’s important to past present and future customers to know when there have been difficulties and the lengths I’ve gone to try and sort these out. I’m upset to have been branded ‘a disappointing customer service’ given that I tried (very hard with lots of emails and phone calls at a time of year when I don’t have a spare moment) to sort this, however Caroline is entitled to her opinion and to have it seen. I accepted Caroline’s order in early December. Caroline’s original order request was for a 13mm x 11mm oval however I strongly recommended checking suitability with samples first as a bespoke crest engraved ring would not be accepted returned under distance selling rules, basically wanted them to make sure the product was right for them rather than be disappointed, but didn’t receive the deposit to send out bronze ring head size samples until 15-12-2014, given the difficulties of getting hold of this chap anyway being in the Army as Caroline mentioned, I was worried there wouldn’t be adequate time to send the samples out, have the chap try these on and respond with head size required before the Christmas deadline given the late deposit payment. But we persevered anyway. Then as I got to the point of having the artwork drawn up I was informed that the future mother in law would not be able to pay the outstanding balance till 24-12-2014. My apologies to Caroline and her family that they won’t have the Christmas present they hoped for, but as a one man show I’m just not in a position to ‘credit’ customers by sending out completed products without complete payment which I was being expected to do. Rightly or wrongly I started to get a sense that I may have been getting scammed as there were other details about payments, cards etc that didn’t check out which I attempted to check against the electoral role, so made the hard decision to refund their deposit which I did in full. I guess this is just one of things that I’ve learnt after 40 years in the trade you just have to chalk up to experience, I guess I’m also lucky that this isn’t my typical customer experience. Many thanks and festive wishes to the more ‘typical’ and kind customers I’ve enjoyed serving over the years, Viv.

Comments: Dear Viv,
the rings are really beautiful! So much nicer in person! The detail is stunning, you've done an excellent job, especially with the minuscule flower and quill. And I can see how the design would look absolutely gorgeous on a pendant for example..the seal stamp looks great, too, the round shape works very well.
I am also happy I chose the slightly bigger finger size. All in all I couldn't be more satisfied with the end product.
Thank you very much for all the care you put into making these.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, I wish you all the best and many exciting projects in the new year.
Kind regards, Sandra

Comments: Viv, Well what can I say! After getting several items of 18c gold to Viv from Australia, thanks Mum, Viv cast a wonderful 18x15 ring. Using the Vyvyan Coat of Arms, that's my middle name, Viv was able to engrave this very delicate image perfectly onto the ring. It really is hard to describe how intricate the work is without holding it in your hand. I could not find anyone in Australia that made signet rings using Viv's method let alone doing it using once loved but now unused gold. Exceptional service, honest and realistic advice and not bad for a laugh on the phone either. I can not thank you or recommend you enough. Cheers David

Comments: I have just received a signet ring made by Viv for my daughter. It is difficult to visualise what you may get when you do this online but I cannot believe the amazing item which arrived this morning. The craftsmanship is second to none and Viv made the whole process so easy, replying to my questions within hours. The ring is better than anything I have looked at on the high street Thank you so much, my daughter will be thrilled

Comments: Fine Quality..Viv was very helpful in the design, although not the quickest,Viv is a stickler for design balance. The Ring I ordered was smooth in texture and fitted brilliantly. The Crest was engraved with the utmost skill, deep and recognisable .
A Ring that would be a pleasure to hand down.
Thanks Kev.

Comments: When I first starting looking into a bespoke signet ring I went the traditional route into a high street shop and was surprised to discover that they were not really interested - service being a thing of the past! So onto the internet, numerous heraldic jewellery websites popped up all claiming they were the answer to my prayers and then by chance I clicked onto Delorean, after chuckling my way through Viv's sales blurb and then reading nothing but glowing feedback - I gave him a ring... a number of weeks have now passed and so many emails I have lost count with silver samples and ring sizers flying back and forth - but I am now in possession of 4 totally handmade signet rings to my own unique design (albeit with a lot of expert advice from Viv!) Good old fashioned service from a gentleman who really knows his craft, I'ts been a pleasure to work with you Viv and to say I am pleased with the end result is an understatement and my children will love them.
Admin reply: Thank you , your patience while i have been suffering teething problems with the new laser engraving machine is much appreciated, your order was a challenge i was ill prepared for , i hope they all appreciate the thought and time you have put into Christmas this year . Viv .

Comments: I have just taken delivery of my second signet ring from Viv - both for my sons' 21st birthday presents. It is absolutely stunning and I am totally thrilled with it. Viv is a very talented and artistic person, full of patience for our change of minds and very helpful in our decisions. He has a good sense of humour and is amazing to be learning the laser machine. It certainly gives very impressive results. I would recommend Viv to anyone I know whom would like engraved jewellery and suspect my eldest son will now want one! Thank you Viv for such beautiful signet rings!
