I now have the most beautifully made, solid signet ring with stunning engraving courtesy of the new laser engraving machine.

Viv is an absolute perfectionist (with a brilliant sense of humour) who takes real pride in what he does, and it shows. His work is remarkable.

The best thing is, nobody else could have gone into a shop and bought it. The ring was made for me which makes it really special.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Viv and I certainly won't hesitate if there is a chance to go back to him for another ring in the future. He's very knowledgable, helpful and honest.I feel proud to own this wonderful exemplar of true craftsmanship.

I had 3 old gold rings that I wished to have converted into one heavyweight ring, a project that had hitherto met with little enthusiasm from jewellers in the High Street, so I turned to the Internet and it was by good fortune I discovered Viv's Delorean website.
I can confirm that Viv provides an excellent service at an extremely reasonable price. I found him to be very knowledgable, yet patient and understanding, and very approachable about my project. He also made some useful and constructive suggestions about the design of my ring.
Today I received the finished product through the post and it certainly exceeded my best expectations. So, I now have a unique heavyweight gold signet ring that I can be proud of, and something of beauty and value to pass on to my grandson. I placed an order for a cost of GBP 50 ring, lo and behold, what I received was at least three times superior in quality compared to what is being sold here in North America. Sizing is perfect, and no need to have it adjusted in contrast with store bought ring.

I have just received my latest order from Viv and am once again totally delighted. I've bought a number of rings from Viv in a variety of styles, monogrammed, hand engraved, diamond set, completely plain and most recently lazer engraved by Viv's super new machine. On every occasion I have been extremely impressed with the fantastic quality of Viv's work, the amazing value for money and the superb customer service.
I can not recommend Viv highly enough.

He is a true craftsman and has a real passion for what he does.

My ring arrived today as promised and it is fantastic.
It fits perfectly and the additional court shape on the inside has made it even more comfortable than the pattern one was. I wore it all afternoon while driving, working and eating and I almost forgot about it entirely.
The laser engraving is excellent and just the right depth. The style/shape is just how I wanted it to be and the finish on the whole ring is beautiful.
Basically it is a perfect job and I am entirely satisfied with it.

My own signet ring was rather old and the engraving somewhat worn away. We have a family crest which in uncomplicated terms is a lion with his right paw on a cross. There is an excellent Latin description, but I will spare you the detail. My eldest son, Jonathan, was 18 in November last year and so in October I approached Viv for a ring for him (new) and a re-casting of my rather weather-beaten offering. It is now August 2014 and we have just received the final product.

But read on...

The Delorean website has a series of videos in which Viv demonstrates how he makes his rings. I was very impressed and lodged the commission on-line with a follow up phone call. Here is a man with many years of experience in the jewellery trade who has developed an extra-ordinary passion for making precious metal rings and more recently the art of engraving.

So why the delay?

The answer is that Viv is a perfectionist. Not happy with a failed engraving from a previously trusted third party he decided to take matters into his own hands and I was prepared to wait. The story is long, but in essence it involves a wonderful journey of discovery resulting in Viv acquiring a bespoke laser engraving machine, learning how to use digital mapping to create quite remarkable and complex engravings with a level of accuracy that will leave the hand-engravers feeling the heat.

Literally.

The rings were delivered by hand and I could not have been more satisfied. The quality was outstanding and I was even given a jewellers eye-glass with which to inspect them. In compensation for the wait my wife, Emma, was given a silver pendant on which the family crest had been engraved and I think that by now, Viv was satisfied that his laser could deliver. She is, of course, over the moon with her unexpected gift and it is now on a silver chain for all to see. So why would I recommend this operation?

Because Viv is an artisan.

Hi Viv!
Thanks very much for the ring, it looks great. I've tried it out on bluetack as you suggested, and it makes a good impression. The cut itself is obviously very sharp, and while it doesn't necessarily have a hand-cut feel to it - too perfect - it is what I was expecting.
